Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of AskVet247, including our website, online veterinary support services, AI-assisted veterinary tools, clinic portal, reports, appointments, subscriptions and related services.
By accessing or using AskVet247, creating an account, booking an appointment, uploading information, using our AI tools, or subscribing to the portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About AskVet247
AskVet247 is an online veterinary support platform that provides digital tools for pet owners, veterinary professionals and veterinary clinics. The platform may include online appointments, AI-assisted report generation, clinical support tools, note-taking tools, case management, patient records, toxin checking, drug safety checking, cytology support, blood test interpretation, imaging support and other veterinary workflow tools.
AskVet247 is designed to support veterinary decision-making and client communication. It is not a replacement for a qualified veterinary surgeon, in-person clinical examination, emergency veterinary treatment, specialist referral, diagnostic testing, or professional clinical judgement.
2. Important Veterinary Disclaimer
AskVet247 provides informational, educational and clinical decision-support content only. Any guidance, AI-generated output, report, summary, note, risk assessment, interpretation or recommendation produced by the platform must be reviewed and verified by a qualified veterinary professional before being relied upon for clinical decisions.
AskVet247 does not guarantee that any AI-generated output is complete, accurate, suitable for a specific animal, or free from error. Veterinary users remain responsible for checking all outputs against the patient history, clinical examination, diagnostic findings, medicines legislation, professional guidance, local practice policy and their own clinical judgement.
Pet owners should not use AskVet247 as a substitute for contacting a veterinary practice. If your pet is unwell, deteriorating, in pain, injured, having difficulty breathing, collapsed, bleeding, seizuring, unable to pass urine, has consumed a toxin, or may require urgent treatment, you must contact a veterinary practice or emergency veterinary service immediately.
3. Emergency Situations
AskVet247 is not an emergency veterinary service. We do not guarantee immediate response times, emergency triage, diagnosis, prescribing, treatment or referral. If you believe an animal may be in an emergency or life-threatening condition, you must seek urgent veterinary care directly.
4. Eligibility and Accounts
To use certain features, you may need to create an account. You must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.
Veterinary professional and clinic accounts may only be used by authorised users. Clinics are responsible for ensuring that their staff, contractors and authorised users use the platform appropriately and in accordance with these Terms, applicable law, professional obligations and internal clinic policies.
5. Clinic and SaaS Portal Terms
Where AskVet247 is provided to a veterinary clinic, group, corporate practice or other organisation as a software-as-a-service platform, the clinic is responsible for managing its own users, access permissions, patient records, uploaded information and use of AI-generated outputs.
Each clinic account is logically separated from other clinic accounts. Users should only access data they are authorised to view. Any attempt to access another clinic’s data, bypass security controls, misuse admin permissions, scrape data, reverse engineer the platform, or interfere with the platform is strictly prohibited.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree that you will:
- Provide accurate and lawful information when using the platform.
- Use the platform only for legitimate veterinary, administrative or pet-care purposes.
- Review AI-generated content carefully before relying on it.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations and professional duties.
- Keep account credentials confidential and notify us of suspected unauthorised access.
- Not upload unlawful, harmful, misleading, abusive, infringing or malicious content.
- Not attempt to compromise, test, scan, overload or disrupt the platform without written permission.
7. AI-Assisted Tools
AskVet247 may use artificial intelligence to assist with analysis, summarisation, report drafting, decision support and workflow automation. AI tools may process information provided by users, including animal details, clinical notes, uploaded images, laboratory results and case information.
AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, incomplete reasoning, unsuitable wording or incorrect interpretations. AI outputs are not final clinical decisions. Veterinary professionals must independently assess and validate all outputs before using them in practice.
AskVet247 may update, modify, improve or replace AI models, prompts, safety controls, disclaimers and report formats from time to time. Output style, content and accuracy may vary between versions.
8. Appointments and Online Consultations
Where online appointments are offered, appointments must be booked through the platform and may require payment in advance. Appointment access may only be available during the scheduled appointment window.
Online consultations may be limited by the information provided, video quality, audio quality, availability of records, and the inability to physically examine the animal. A veterinary professional may recommend in-person examination, emergency care, diagnostic testing or referral where appropriate.
9. Payments, Subscriptions and Billing
Certain features may require payment, subscription or clinic licence fees. Prices, billing periods, usage limits, trial periods, renewal terms and cancellation terms will be shown at the point of purchase, in your agreement, or within the relevant portal area.
Unless stated otherwise, fees are payable in advance and are exclusive of any applicable taxes. Failure to pay fees may result in suspension or restriction of access. Subscription terms for clinics may be subject to separate written commercial agreements.
10. Refunds and Cancellations
Refunds, cancellations and subscription changes will be handled in accordance with the terms displayed at purchase or set out in your clinic agreement. Where a service has already been provided, access has been used, or reports have been generated, refunds may not be available unless required by law.
11. Uploaded Content and Clinical Data
You may upload or enter information such as pet details, owner details, symptoms, notes, clinical records, images, laboratory results and other case information. You confirm that you have the right and authority to provide such information to AskVet247.
You retain ownership of your content and clinical data. You grant AskVet247 the rights necessary to host, process, store, transmit, analyse and display that content for the purpose of providing the service, maintaining the platform, improving safety, complying with law and supporting users.
12. Data Protection and Privacy
AskVet247 processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 where applicable. Further information about how personal data is collected, used, stored and shared is set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Where AskVet247 processes personal data on behalf of a veterinary clinic, the clinic will usually act as the data controller and AskVet247 will usually act as a data processor, unless otherwise stated in a separate agreement. Clinic customers may also be required to enter into a Data Processing Agreement with us.
13. Confidentiality
We will take reasonable steps to protect confidential information submitted to the platform. Users must also protect confidential information they access through the platform, including patient records, client details, reports, internal clinic information, login credentials and commercially sensitive information.
14. Security
AskVet247 uses technical and organisational measures designed to protect the platform, including access controls, authentication, audit logging, clinic data separation, secure hosting and other security measures. However, no online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure or uninterrupted.
You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access, account compromise, data loss, security weakness or misuse of the platform.
15. Acceptable Use
You must not:
- Use the platform for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or harmful purposes.
- Upload malware, malicious files, corrupted files or harmful code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems, accounts or data.
- Misrepresent AI outputs as confirmed diagnosis without professional review.
- Use the platform to provide veterinary services where you are not legally permitted to do so.
- Copy, resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the platform without permission.
- Interfere with the security, availability or performance of the platform.
16. Intellectual Property
AskVet247, including its software, design, branding, workflows, reports, templates, prompts, databases, documentation and content, is owned by us or our licensors. You may use the platform only as permitted under these Terms or any separate written agreement.
You must not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, reproduce or create derivative works from the platform except where expressly permitted by law or by written agreement.
17. Third-Party Services
AskVet247 may integrate with or rely on third-party providers, including cloud hosting providers, payment processors, email providers, analytics providers and AI technology providers. Third-party services may be subject to their own terms, privacy notices and availability limitations.
18. Availability and Changes to the Platform
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that the platform will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free or compatible with every device, browser or system. We may update, suspend, withdraw, modify or replace features from time to time, including for maintenance, security, compliance, operational or commercial reasons.
19. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, non-payment, security risk, breach of these Terms, breach of law, unauthorised access, professional misconduct, harmful activity, or risk to users, animals, clinics or the platform.
You may stop using the platform at any time. Clinic subscriptions and commercial agreements may have separate cancellation, notice and termination terms.
20. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AskVet247 will not be liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or loss arising from reliance on unverified AI-generated content.
Veterinary professionals and clinics remain responsible for clinical decisions, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, advice, communication with clients and compliance with professional obligations.
21. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold AskVet247 harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses arising from your misuse of the platform, breach of these Terms, unlawful processing of data, unauthorised access, professional negligence, or reliance on AI outputs without appropriate professional review.
22. Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer, you may have legal rights that cannot be excluded or limited by these Terms. Nothing in these Terms affects those statutory rights.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we may notify users or require acceptance of the updated version before continued use of the platform. The version and date at the top of this page indicate when these Terms were last updated.
24. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms, except where applicable consumer law gives you rights to bring proceedings elsewhere.
25. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms, your account, subscriptions, data protection, or use of the platform, please contact AskVet247 using the contact details provided on our website or within your account dashboard.
